Our host had set crab traps in the dammed creek (or perhaps it was a small river, anyway, damming it made a lake). He emptied his traps and cooked up these lovely blue crabs. They were very good, but you have to pick at them a lot to get out the meat.

Lol when i first read dammed creek i thought you meant it was a damn creek, i.e. a bad creek that annoyed you or something haha!
Crabs are yum, we have mud crabs when we are visiting my inlaws, beautiful!
I got a bit confused with that myself. We only have two natural lakes in Virginia. All the rest (including this one) are man-made, and come from damming creeks (not damning creeks).
